ABOUT US
Welcome to the Lehigh Valley Hash House Harriers! We are a unique social drinking club that combines the joy of running with the pleasure of good company and great brews. Our motto, 'A Drinking Club with a Running Problem,' captures our spirit perfectly. Whether you're a seasoned runner, a casual jogger, or a power walker we invite you to join us for our monthly hash trails followed by social gatherings filled with laughter, camaraderie, singing, and of course, refreshments. This is more than just a club; it's a community where friendships are forged over miles and pints.

Hash History
The international Hash House Harriers was founded in Kuala Lumpur, Selangor (now Malaysia) in 1938 by British Ex-patriots including Albert Stephen Ignatious "G" Gispert, Frederick "Horse" Thompson, Ronald "Torch" Bennett, and many others. Named after the Club Annex where they lived and dined, the original format was patterned after the British game of Hares and Hounds where 1-2 "Hare" runners scatter a trail of cut paper to be followed by the "Hounds". Harriers reaching the end would partake in beer and cigarettes. The Hash ceased running with the dawn of World War II, but reorganized under its official charter in 1950 under an official constitution with the recorded objectives:
1. To promote physical fitness
2. To get rid of weekend hangovers
3. To Acquire a good thirst and satisfy it with beer
4. To persuade the older members they are not as old as they feel
Chapters, commonly called kennels, spread to Europe and the US during the mid 1970s
The Lehigh Valley Hash House Harriers were founded on September 25, 2004 by then Jersey Gypsy Hasher Quick-n-Little. The Lehigh Valley Hash lays trails on the 3rd Saturday of every month (and variable other celebrations throughout the year).
